Nigel Dunkley is a Certified Athletic Trainer who is passionate about improving basketball athletes’ performance at all levels. Nigel played basketball throughout his high school career and still trains and competes in many basketball leagues and tournaments around the country. Nigel is a true student of the game who over time, has expanded his basketball network from New York to Los Angeles, CA.

Nigel earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Athletic Training while minoring in Sports Studies from SUNY Cortland’s Top ranked Sports Medicine program back in May of 2019; demonstrating his competency in injury prevention and the recovery process for any given sports-related injury. As an AT student at Cortland, Nigel had an opportunity to work in the IVY league with Cornell University’s Men’s Sprint Football and Men’s Basketball program during their 2018 Collegiate seasons. In January 2020, Nigel moved to Los Angeles, California where he interned for several months at Kobe Bryant’s MAMBA Sports Academy; a popular location for top tier professional athletes and celebrities to train during their off-seasons.

On Mamba Day, August 24, 2020, Nigel launched his brand HoopersRehab in honor of his late idol Kobe Bryant. Through Hoopers Rehab, Nigel’s mission is to continue Kobe Bryant’s legacy of inspiring the next generation of athletes with the Mamba Mentality. Nigel’s is helping basketball athletes train and improve their game physically, so they can reduce their risk of injuries while reaching optimal performance on the basketball court.
