The Trans Adirondack Route is a 240-mile primitive hiking path that traverses the Adirondack Park of Upstate New York, the largest park and forest preserve in the Lower Forty-Eight.  Highlights include the longest river entirely within New York, the state's fifth-highest peak, and a traverse of five wilderness areas.
